Little Eyes ~ Yo La Tengo
I first heard this fine little tune while sitting in the backyard watching clouds make shapes for me — it’s part of my therapy to lay flat on the “warm” table in the little glass conservatory we have and just let it all roll by — this song got me to thinking ever so slowly about things. Any song that can do that is a worthy pick for Tuesday’s Get Up and Cheer Life from the Flimwell Papers’ Music Corner. Peace, love and laying flat to y’all!

is there any way i can fill out an application and just be like “i am an awesome person and i’m smart and i like other people and i’m nice and i learn fast but i have a mental illness so that’s why i don’t have much work experience please hire me and give me a chance because it’s going to be 20 times more difficult for me to find a job than most people thank you”
um lol no
i remember once i was jerking off and my parents knocked on the door like “dinners ready, what are you doing?” and i got scared so i screamed playing pingpong. I don’t own a ping pong table.

“It is okay to want your own happiness. It’s okay to care about yourself the most. You are not obligated to sit there and smile and swallow every bit of shit everyone heaps on you. You are more than furniture, you’re more than window dressing, you’re not their shiny toy. You’re human, and you have the right to say “That was shitty of you”. You have a right to protest your own mistreatment and set boundaries for respectful interactions. The rest of the world doesn’t realize you have this right, and they will act offended and appalled when you exercise it, but it is yours.”
